Katherine Nuñez

Katherine Nuñez, who has a background in painting, also works with textile. Her textile works employ embroidery, beadwork, and natural dyeing done with the intention to connect the simple acts of everyday living with her creative practice, and to experiment with material, especially with dyeing. This has led her to create work that combines the art studio, kitchen, and garden. She also paints to record her studio-garden experiments, and tries to play with how a painting can be approached as an object of craft. She was a Spring Resident of Gasworks, London (2024), and a recipient of the British Council's Connections Through Culture Grant (2025). A notable highlight in her artistic practice is her participation in the 57th Venice Biennale Viva Arte Viva in 2017.
