Gerecho Iniel Cruz

Gerecho Iniel Cruz, a graduate of Fine Arts major in Advertising, learned how to paint by creating optical illusions with acrylic that lean into his graphic design background. He also made master copies with oil on canvas while playing with its installative aspect (called modular paintings). He later found his way into circuits which added another element of interaction in his works. This trajectory was propelled by his interest in learning how things work, particularly by applying basic electronic concepts on his circuits. From learning how to paint to learning how to tinker, his experimentations later expanded into sound which transformed his circuits into instruments. Now, he is exploring new ways to use recent technology to further initiate interaction between the work itself and its audience while still retaining his discipline in painting.
